A Journey To My Journey

Once, I was so engrossed with myself
with what I wanted, what I could get,
what could make me happy.

As I gradually grow towards maturity,
I realize that there are people who want to live
as much as I want to.
People who have dreams just like I have mine,
People who search for happiness as often as I do.

I have awakened to the reality that
I am not the center of the universe.
We are in the universe but Christ is the center.

Now, I understand that there is more to life
than just seeking what can satisfy me.
My search for life's meaning beckons me to ask:
"What can i give?" "What can i do?"

Within me come stirrings to go out of my own small word
And do something as I hear the cry of the poor
and feel the emptiness in people's lives.

My journey, I can feel the calling..
but the world and its needs seem too big for me
I have not yet conquered my own cares
I have not yet fulfilled my own dreams.

My journey, lead when I am afraid
Give me courage and strength when I want to quit,
Let me put my hope and trust in You.

My journey lead me and keep me going,
Guides me through as I search for Your will
May i find happiness in being able to say;
"My journey, Mission Accomplished!"
